On Aug. 17, the Sun Lakes Tennis Club held a Mixed Doubles
Mixer followed by a catered dinner of tacos, salad, margaritas, and
beer. A group photo of the tennis players (above) was taken before
play on three of our six courts.
In the back row: Bob Walter, Russ Goldman, Cheryl Vanderpool,
Carl Miller, Dave Huetten, Mark Vanderpool, Al Acosta, and David
Nethercott. In the front row: Sally Jo Schwartz, Bobbie Wells-
Roberts, Wendy Seirup, Peggy Huetten, and Anita Chatigny.
An extra player, Tom Whittington, also took part. Bob Walter
supervised the event.
Our catered meal was served indoors in the South Clubhouse,
where over three dozen club members and guests enjoyed the
evening. Thanks to Kim Jensen, Sally Jo Schwartz, and Michele
Walter for organizing and preparing this delicious meal.
In October, the focus will be on hosting three annual Tennis Club
tournaments. The Mixed Doubles tournament will be held Oct. 4
and 5. Women's Doubles and Men's Doubles will be Oct. 18 and
19. Trophy presentations will occur at the Octoberfest dinner on
Sun., Oct. 19, at 5 pm. Participation is open to current Tennis Club
members. Tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to support from the
viewing stands.
