QUILTERS
Every year the Solera Quilters complete a challenge project.
Sometimes, it's based on specific colors, or patterns, or themes. We
can make whatever size quilt we want, from potholders and place
mats to full sized quilts. We have one year to complete our project,
and typically share them in September. This year our challenge was
to use one yard of our favorite fabric from our "stash" (collection)
and make whatever we wanted to from it. As is typical in any group,
some jumped right on this and some were still finishing up days
before our meeting! But no matter the timeline, they all turned
out beautifully! Our next challenge was presented by Shirley Slick.
Very excited to see what the ladies come up with for next September!
Knit and Crochet member Becky Thomas is an extremely talented crocheter who does a great job on garments that fit, afghans (as seen
in pic), adorable gnomes that were gifted to family members last year, but we didn't know how talented she is at needle crafts. She shared
some of her past works that were stunning. The art work needs to be framed or made into pillows, so if anybody has a good source on
where that can be done, let us know. These are just too beautiful not to be framed!
Knit and Crochet meets Thursdays from 10 to 12 and we all work on individual projects, laugh, share, but also can help newbies. Come
visit to see if you'd like to join our group.
