| LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2025 | 37 GOLF CLUB We have a new member for our club. Karrla Hutton was at the New Members Meeting for Solera and met Stan and Jim. Welcome, Karrla. We are also looking forward to our own version of the Ryder Cup. Bob Umeck and Dave Scott are the team captains this year for our version of the Ryder Cup, playing our final round at Yucaipa on Oct. 7. Good luck teams! We were at Legends for a two-man skins game. The team of Smith/ Anderson took gross skins and Fry/Ardis had the bet win. CP's were had by Fry, Sampson, and Tony for 2. On Aug. 12, we played at Oak Valley. This four-man three-best ball tourney was won by the team of Mags/Bock/Stearn/Martin. CP's went to Samaro, Ardis, Craig Martin, and Rob again. Tukwet Champions hosted a low net game on Aug. 19. John Dockery blew us all away with a net 68. CP winners were Tony Smith with 2, come on, and Dave Duncanson. No one made the green on #15. A tough challenge for most of us. We had a hot and humid outing at Oak Valley on On Aug. 26 we were back at Oak Valley where Bob Marks shot his age with an 85 to carry Bock in a two-man best ball event and win the day. Second place went to Dockery and Young. We had a windy to start in Yucaipa when a dust storm blew in from the desert with trees blown over and sprinkles of rain. This skins game was won by Dave Samara with 2. Gary Stange had an Eagle on #10 for a skin. Other skinners were Mags, Osborne, Stearn, Tony, and Anderson. WHO WANTS TO PLAY PICKLEBALL? If you're new to the game or have played before, come join us for some exercise, fun, and new friends. We play every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at the Solera sports court starting at 7:30 am. If you don't have a paddle, many players will lend you one for the morning. Be sure to wear proper court shoes. For more information, please text or call Sandy Stern at (717) 542-0481 or Gaby DeWitt at (909) 446-2704. We look forward to seeing you soon, and remember, "no ball is worth the fall."
