Bud Charlick
If you have lived in Solera for 20 years, you probably knew Bud. Bud and Judy moved
to Solera in 2005 after Bud retired as a food chemist. He was the type of man that
wanted to be involved and contribute to his community. Over the years, he served on
CALAC, the Sunshine Club, DRC, and was president of the Board of Directors. Bud
hardly missed a Board meeting and was not bashful to speak his mind.
Bud volunteered at San Gorgonio Hospital, manning the front desk for four years and
then worked in the hospital lab for over 10 more years.
Bud had many hobbies. He played the piano and other instruments and also wrote
music. He built model cars, loved woodworking, and was an avid gardener.
Bud was a great fighter for justice. In his day, he marched in demonstrations on issues
for peace and freedom and spoke out against injustice wherever he saw it.
He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Shereen, California Superior Court Judge,
son Eric, Deputy Commissioner California Department of Insurance, grandchildren,
Kaitlyn, Eve and Kyle, and brothers Robert Charlick, Ph.D., and Bruce Charlick.
Good bye friend, we will miss you.
