| LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2025 | 7 At the Board Meeting in August, there was an unfortunate criticism of the Treasurer for not having a report. To be clear, the only nancial reports required are the rst, second, third quarter reports, and the year-end report presented to the Board of Directors by the Finance Committee. e Treasurer is a liaison for the Finance Committee and does not have a vote. All Board members are required to review the monthly nancial statements and reports, which are prepared by Keystone. e President and Treasurer are responsible for approving invoices aer a review from Keystone and our General Manager. When an invoice is coded to be paid from our Reserve fundings, both President and Treasurer must approve it before it can be paid. e Treasurer does provide input to the Finance Committee, which is appreciated. In September, the Finance Committee presented the rst quarter report to the Board. Also, our audit was received from Newman CPA. It stated, in part, "We have audited the accompanying nancial statements of Solera Oak Valley Greens Association, which comprise the balance sheet as of May 31, 2025, and the related statements of revenues, expenses, and changes in fund balances and cash ows for the year then ended, and related notes to the nancial statements. In our opinion, the nancial statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the nancial position of Solera Oak Valley Greens Association as of May 31, 2025, and the results of its operations and its cash ows for the year then ended in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America." e criticism mentioned above was made without merit. Not only do the Board members review the nancials monthly, but each member of the Finance Committee also reviews the nancial statements. e invoices are also reviewed by the Chairperson to ensure the payment amounts are correct and the payments are charged to the correct account (Operating, Reserves, or Capital Improvement). If something is charged to an incorrect account, it is documented in the committee's minutes, and a recommendation is presented to the Board for approval to make the adjustment. ese adjustments are also audited by our CPA. ~ Marcia Casem Finance Committee
