| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2025 | 31 Horseshoes We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. ere is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at dierent locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Bocce is a game that needs some skills, but also has a lot of luck just as equal. e highest score when all of the red and green playing balls are thrown out into the bocce court are counted only if you are the closest color to the pollino, you would receive one point for each ball that is closer to the white pollino ball. Here is where the game can change and that is if one of those balls roll up to the white pollino and touches it when you throw your ball and it rolls next to the pollino on the bocce court. You cannot bump a ball into the pollino it does not count. Not easy to achieve but this past season, we had ve players that were able to throw their playing ball and actually touch the small white ball. at is the whole strategy of bocce. Getting as close as you can to that smaller ball, or touching it. ose players for the 2025 season that got the BOCCE worth two points are as listed le to right: Lynn Voorheis, Sandra O'Connor, Cynthia Ellingworth, Leonard Gleason, and Pam McIntre. ey each received a Medal and were the only players that were recognized out of 90 players this year. Great job players.
