Apply NOW for Your Solar Installation if You Want 30 Percent 2025 Federal Tax Credit e new federal "One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025" eliminates the 30 percent federal tax credit for solar panels and energy storage systems (ESS), AKA batteries, installed aer Dec. 30, 2025. To qualify for this credit, the installation must be completed by Dec. 30, 2025. If you would like to take advantage of this credit before it expires, you should allow time to: decide what you want; receive one or more proposals; evaluate the proposals and select the provider; receive the provider's complete plan for panels and/or ESS that complies with our HOA Standards and Regulations, p. 19-20; complete and submit Exhibit A of the Application with the provider's plan; secure approval by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) which meets the rst and third Mondays monthly; and have the installation completed by December 30, 2025. If you pay for the panels and/or ESS in 2025, and, if you expect to owe sucient federal taxes on 2025 income, you may benet from the 2025 credit, 30 percent of what you pay, on your 2025 tax return when you le your 2025 taxes. If you lease the system, get a loan to pay for it, or get a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), you will not be entitled to the credit. With a PPA, the provider gets the federal tax credit. Most providers are encouraging homeowners to include an ESS in their projects; this is not required. It is also possible with many existing solar panel installations to just add an ESS. e HOA Standards and Regulations describe the best way to install an ESS, i.e. in one's garage. is minimizes the unsightly look of this equipment. In some case, it my not be possible or too expensive to locate ESS inside your garage. In this case, one should justify placing an ESS outside, minimizing and painting exposed conduits; it should not be visible behind a gate. Recently, we found a homeowner who completed the installation of an ESS located behind their gate but visible from the street without obtaining ARC approval. e provider told the homeowner they would get HOA approval; they did not. e ARC required the homeowner to submit an application and appear before the Committee. e homeowner's application was denied because there was excessive conduit along the walls, and the ESS could be seen above the gate. e homeowner now has to have this corrected at the provider's or their expense. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2025 | 7 Architectural Review Solar panel equipment is best placed inside your garage. is solar panel installation does not comply with our Regulations because it can be seen from the street.
