18 | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2025 | Greetings from the Clubhouse! Reservations for 2026 continue to be our main emphasis and we are still accepting forms for non-club activities. is category is called a special interest group. It does not matter whether an activity has been ongoing for years, or at the same time and place. Each activity needs to ll out the necessary form and agree by signing the terms outlined within. October is what event planners call a "theme-based month." is allows for creativity in programming with fall décor and incorporating all the Halloween expressions into scheduled activities. When October 31st lands on a Saturday, it is the desired date that most would want to have a Halloween Party. Several clubs always request that date on their reservation forms. For 2026, the clubs requesting that date were able to compromise and do a work around. is cooperative attitude is always appreciated, and it makes for a better experience for all of those involved. If a conict does arise, we do our best to nd an alternate date, but sometimes there is not an open date available. So, with this intro we are oering an American Red Cross "Blood Donor Day "on Wed., Oct. 29, in the Clubhouse from 10 am to 4 pm. ey are no longer oering the Blood Mobile services. We had 22 sign-ups for our 40th Anniversary Health Fair, and that proved to be quite successful. is time we will be holding it in the Mykonos Room. Call the Front Desk and pick up the yer giving donors the ten top reasons to give blood. And it is not because it is in the spirit of Halloween, but each donor will walk a little taller aerward, helping to save someone's life. Tri-City Medical Center will be here urs., Nov. 6 for the last of their 2025 LunchWise Lectures with "Nourishing Conversations." Dr. Christopher Bo and Dr. Kern Brar will be speaking about adding years to your life and personalized health care. Tickets are available to secure a lunch at 11:30 am. Lecture will begin at 12 noon. We appreciate the partnership we have had with the Tri- City Medical Center Team. e weather has cooled o and the requests keep coming to increase the number of lap swimming times on the SKEDDA reservation system. Sta continue to put the lane lines in and out about four times a day and have made a point to put them in the water at about 7 pm, at night, when it is convenient to do so. A couple of nights the pool sweep is activated. e evenings are an enjoyable time to swim, and the water is a delightful 84 degrees all year round, so come on down and enjoy the moonlight! e pool closes at 10 pm. Just a reminder to support our pop-up vendors when they come on Mondays and Tuesdays. We make every attempt to eblast their arrival but there have been times when they cancel last minute. We appreciate their services. e staging of their equipment in the Overow Parking Lot is not an easy task each time they arrive. Chez Christophe, La Banana, and Ela's Crepes are the three that are coming currently. We are looking at other vendors, anyone for sushi? Happy Halloween! For those that enjoy this holiday, here are some quotes to share with family and friends: • "Witching you a Happy Halloween." • "I love you, just boo-cause." • "Have a Fang-tastic Halloween." • "Creep It Real is Halloween." • "Hope your Halloween's so fun, it's scary!"
