22 | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2025 | As we head into the last few months of the year, please don't be complacent: If you have little ones visiting for the holidays, make reservations now so you don't get caught short. Many items are very popular! We maintain a list of individuals who have items available for loan, including their contact information and the specic items they wish to share. When someone inquires about borrowing, we will provide this list so that the donor and recipient can arrange the details. ese loans are intended for our residents' visiting grandchildren. Borrowed items (excluding car seats, strollers and car booster seats) are not to be taken out of the village or used by anyone other than the borrower. If you have items to loan out - such as strollers, car seats, carriers, Pack'n'Plays, high chairs, books, toys, games, or puzzles - please email Naomi at NaomiBKatz@iCloud.com and/or Rich at redcisc@gmail.com. Be sure to include the items, their age- appropriateness, and your name, address, phone number, and email address for inclusion on the list. Important news for October! Naomi will be traveling for most of the month. Please contact Rich about your needs. Should you nd yourself in need of an item or two, please reach out to Rich or Naomi, and we will send you the list. Additionally, if your visiting grandchildren have le behind items you won't need for a while, consider oering them for loan at Grandma's Closet. If you have clothing or furniture for babies or children that you can't store or use, please let us know. We would be happy to pick up the items and deliver them to Father Joe's Village, which is always needed. ank you for your attention and anticipated assistance. Volunteers are available to assist our residents with pick-up and delivery when there is an in-home need for medical equipment items. Helping Hands Group e Genealogy Interest Group is a growing group of individuals who want to nd out about their heritage and their ancestry. Curiosity about those who came before and formed us is important. e group provides tools to do your research and help in getting started. For the experience we can oer suggestions to break through the brick walls of past generations. Meeting with others looking in the same geographical areas is a great help. We have a few Apple computers and PCs in the computer room. It is helpful if you want to bring your own laptop. We will meet for Help Sessions on Fri., Oct. 10 and urs., Oct. 30. Newcomers are welcome. All sessions can be seen on the Recreation calendar. We are happy to oer the World Explorer version of Ancestry.com free of charge in the computer room. is program would cost an individual over $100 a month. We also oer the Family Tree Maker on several of the computers in the lab. A family tree can be started and compiled with either or both programs with many hints to assist in your research.
