Written by Bob Bechill Fun With Succulents Succulents are water-retaining plants that have adapted to arid climates or soil conditions. Succulence is a term given to these plants because of their ability to store water in their leaves, stems, and even roots. ere are over 10,000 species of succulents in the world. While we can't learn about all of these species at our October meeting, we are delighted to have Betty Corvey, San Diego Master Gardener, discuss the general care and propagation of succulents. During her presentation, Betty will also do a live demonstration on how to create a beautiful wreath made with succulents. At the conclusion of the meeting, Betty's wreath will be included in our monthly rae. One lucky audience member will have a lovely new decoration for their home. Event Details: Wed., Oct. 8, Abravanel Hall, social time 9:30 am and the meeting starts at 10 am. Join the Garden Club for just $10 per year – sign up at any meeting.
