| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2025 | 47 Arlene's Breakfast Club is a group of wonderful Sun Lakes ladies who enjoy a morning of fellowship and breakfast. We meet at 9 am in the Main Clubhouse Restaurant the second Thursday of each month. We have a variety of speakers on various topics and support our local veterans with donations. Our breakfast is a buffet for $20 including tax and tip. No dues, just pay for your meal. We must provide an accurate count to the Restaurant, so enough food is prepared. Please call Patti Donitini at (951) 769-3271 for more information and to RSVP. Arlene's Breakfast Club Happy Cookers Happy Cookers is dark in November since our regularly scheduled meeting falls on the day after Thanksgiving. In December, our meeting will be a holiday luncheon for members and guests. Happy Cookers meets on the fourth Friday of each month at 11 am in the South Clubhouse, and new members are welcome anytime. We feature guest speakers, cooking demonstrations, outings, or samples of themed cooking provided by our members. Annual dues are $25, and your first meeting in 2026 is free. For membership information, contact Barbara Elness at Barbed1951@ aol.com. If you have a classic car, love to ride or sit in one, talk about, or just look at one, you need to join our club! We have no membership fees or dues, and our meetings are once a month and very short. We begin at 9 am on the first Saturday of every month in the Main Clubhouse parking lot. We display our cars and talk shop, and at 9:30 am we meet in the Multipurpose Room for a very short meeting. We announce car shows, discuss upcoming activities and events, and then go out together for breakfast. Men and women, husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, we welcome you all. We're all about fun and good fellowship, and we're looking for new members to share our good vibe. You don't even need to own a classic car. Come join us and expand your social life! For more information, contact Rell Snyder at (949) 235-4314 or rell1953@hotmail.com. Cruzin' Cronies meeting. We announce car shows, discuss upcoming activities and Oops! If you looked for our article in last month's Lifestyles, sorry, it wasn't there. Due to a computer glitch and my error, it didn't reach the publisher. However, if it had been published, you would have found the following, which may interest those of you who enjoy taking day trips. Just a little did-you-know: the largest specialty garden in California is in San Diego. While it is a commercial garden, it is open and free to the public. They also offer free group tours. Pat and Dennise Pennington coordinated a tour for 14 of our Garden Club members, who couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed it and how worthwhile the trip was. The information was plentiful, and they were introduced to some exotic fruits and vegetables. Since the enterprise supplies restaurants, not stores, everything they sampled was ripe and f lavorful, ready to eat, and they were able to buy what they liked to take home. Visit their website atspecialtyproduce.com. Switching topics, in October, our featured speaker was Barbara Toyama. She showcased her talent with pressed f lowers and how to use them to create art and decorate specialty soaps. Next month, we'll be treated to The Art of Tree Trimming with Brian Romberge. If time allows, Brian, who has a background in houseplants, may share some insights into easy-care plants that bring health benefits to our homes. If you have questions about membership, contact our Co-Chairs: Linda Powers at (562) 400-0541 or Sherry Case at (951) 533-3584. Our President, Beverly Agner, at (951) 306-7379, is always happy to answer your questions. Pat Pennington, at (951) 314-9229, loves discussing vegetable gardening and is happy to answer related questions. If you have fruit trees needing harvesting, contact Joy Bailey at (951) 845-5540. The produce will go to local charities. Garden Club
