| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2025 | 5 Community Awareness Program By Michele Walter If you did not have the opportunity to be present for our program in October, you can watch it on Channel 97. You can also visit our website and find out more on our presentation. THE FOLLOWING ARE URGENT SECURITY ALERTS FROM HCN BANK: HCN Bank is seeing a rise in highly- sophisticated scams targeting their elderly clients. Fraudsters are now using advanced tools including AI voice cloning, phone number rerouting, and email compromise to impersonate you or the bank. Their goal is simple: trick you into giving up access to your accounts. What fraudsters are doing: • AI voice cloning to sound like you or your banker • Spoofing any banks main telephone lines • Compromising or mimicking email addresses • Creating urgency to push you into sharing sensitive information RED FLAGS – DO NOT COMPLY: • Your bank will never call to ask you for your online banking credentials • Your bank will never ask you to forward your phone number • Your bank will never ask you to change your phone number or email address • Your bank will never send links for you to click • Your bank will never text you from any number outside verified sources If you encounter any of these requests, treat them as major red f lags and disconnect immediately. You should watch for scam alerts from your own bank and set up personalized alerts for suspicious activity on your accounts, such as unexpected transactions or password changes. Look out for common scams like fake bank alerts asking for personal information or login details via email or text. Always verify requests by contacting your bank directly through their official phone number or website. How to protect yourself: • Set up account alerts • Be wary of unsolicited communications • Verify information directly • Recognize scam tactics • Review your accounts daily IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. The Board approved some resurfacing of streets and parking areas to be completed this month and next. The majority of the work will take place within the three sub-associations (District 3, 6, & 10). The Operations Department is working with the vendor on a start date and once agreed upon, notices will be going out to the community and those impacted will be made aware well in advance. Please reach out to the Operations Department if you have any questions. Keep a look out for updates coming this month. The Board approved the replacement of all the street signs within Sun Lakes. This was definitely needed as there were many signs throughout the community that you could not even read anymore. With all the streets in Sun Lakes, this isn't a project that will be completed overnight. This project will take about three months in total. The project was broken up into three phases and phase one is already complete. If the sign near you hasn't been replaced yet, don't fret as it will be replaced before the end of this year. Should you have any questions on this, please contact the Operations Department. New Street Signs
