From the scrambles and pick-your-partner events, to the member/member, and Beef and Brew, it has been a banner year. Now as the days get shorter and cooler, we head into the holidays, and winter months, and we start worrying about covers on carts and layering clothes, and looking ahead to the coming year. Please join me in welcoming new members Gary Little, Bill Hildebrand, and Steve Roberge. We look forward to seeing you at our events. Have you considered joining? We would like to invite all interested golfers to join us. Are you a little timid about tournament golf? Don't be. Try starting with our Men's Day or our two-man pick-your-partner tournaments to ease your way in. For 2026, the dues for the SLMGC and the SCGA will be combined into one payment of $81. New members joining in November or December will get the rest of 2025 included with their membership. Want to participate in golf related activities but not interested in tournament golf? SLMGC has an associate membership for $40. The cost is less than half of a full membership. Starting in October, club events will be starting with an 8:30 shotgun. The upcoming tournaments are: Wed., Nov. 5: Quarterly Tournament (last leg of the eclectic). Nov. 7 and 12: Sun Lakes Challenge Cup. Executive versus the Championship. Wed., Dec. 3: Jack Dutton Memorial Tournament of Champions/ Gold Tee Tournament. Speaking of tournaments, a big shout out to Doug Jensen, our Tournament Director, who has worked tirelessly all year to bring us quality and fun. Thanks Doug. We especially want to thank Mark, Guillermo, and all the Golf Course Maintenance staff for providing us with such a beautiful and amazing golf course. They are truly the unsung heroes of Sun Lakes, and we are grateful every time we step on the tee box or pass by a golf hole for all the work they do. Also, a big thank you to the great guys in the golf shop. We appreciate all the hard work they do and the assistance we get to make a seamless golfing experience every day.
