Our class is currently studying 1 and 2 Samuel. Many of the
bravest members of our class have attended consistently while
we have studied all the wars and resultant bloodshed while King
David was leader. It took a lot for him to get to the place of ruling
as king over all of Israel and Judah, but because of God's sovereign
persistence, patience, and perfect plan for Israel, and, because of the
mighty warrior that David became, at last there is peace is Israel
in 2 Samuel Chapter 7. It's also the beginning of David's downfall.
We have very interesting and knowledgeable discussions, because
the women in our class are not only brave but very astute as well. 2
Samuel Chapter 7 discusses the Davidic Covenant, which was our
whole motivation in studying 1 and 2 Samuel. We received a great
handout for Chapter 7 showing the lineage of Jesus through Joseph's
ancestral line and through Mary's line.
Here's a praise for all the wonderful women who have not balked
at the wars, but looked at the pertinent history and its purpose in the
Bible. Thank you for your support, encouragement, attendance, and
knowledge. You know who you are. We will finish our last lesson
on Solomon, David's son (1 Kings Chapter 11) on the day of our class
party (Dec. 12), and will begin 2026 in the New Testament and the
Book of Hebrews.
If there are any other Four Seasons women out there interested in
studying the Bible, please come join us. We would enjoy your input
and attendance. We meet every Friday at 10:30 am in The Lodge

Need encouragement? The Gathering may be a great resource for
you. Several residents have met on the last Sunday of the month at
6 pm for a time of sharing, singing and rejoicing in the love of God.
Currently we meet at The Courts Multipurpose Room where the
walls echo with praise and people volunteer to pray for needs within
the community. Our focus is on the encouragement that comes
from the Lord Jesus Christ who said that in this world we would have
troubles, but be of good cheer — He has overcome the world. All are
