FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2025 65 On Sept. 13, we held our annual community Olympics for shuff leboard and had 20 participants making up four teams of five players per team. It was an intense competition but the gold medals went to Wetto Gambino, Ron Jacobson, Linda Santilli, James Chappel, and Kirk Baacke. Congratulations! By the time you are reading this article, we have changed our play hours to the winter schedule, which means that we start play at 9 am instead of 8 am. We continue to play at the shuff leboard courts at The Lodge, behind the swimming pool and next to the paddle tennis courts, where we enjoy our own quiet area for playing. A great way to start your day is to come out and join our group for some fresh air, exercise, and socialization. Shuff leboard is an easy game to learn and almost anyone can quickly become proficient. Our games usually last about an hour and we randomly select teams each time that we play. This keeps the competition challenging and the games interesting. We have no losers, only non-winners. We have a wonderful group of residents who play regularly, but we are always eager to welcome new players. If you are interested in joining a fun activity with friendly residents, please come out on a Monday and/or Saturday morning a little before 9 am. We will introduce you to shuff leboard if you have never played before or give you a refresher, if needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Otherwise, I hope to see you at the shuff leboard courts. ~ Marty Rotman, (310) 948-1693, mrtmj@aol.com Shuffleboard Our Cornhole Group Olympics featured 14 teams, playing close games and fun competition. Bronze, Silver, and Gold Bean Bags were awarded to our winning teams and medals were handed out at the awards ceremony. Our spectators added to the fun with cheers, encouragement, and pom poms! We are changing our start time to 4 pm as of Nov 1. Please join us for cool, fall nights. We meet every Tuesday at 4 pm at The Lodge. All are welcome and we place you with a teammate before the games start. Spectators and participants are always welcome. Bring a chair and enjoy the evening! We suspend our games in the winter due to weather conditions. Nov. 18 will be our last session of the season until May. Watch our Breeze article to keep updated on our group and when we will start up again in the spring. ~ Pat Barry Beaumont Baggers Cornhole Group Bronze winners, Tom Coniguliaro and Susan Coniguliaro Second Place and Silver winners, Allan Koblin and Roger Constance Pat Barry with our Gold Medal Winners, Bob Semler and Pete Levario Shueboard Olympics Gold Medal winners: Wetto Gambino, Ron Jacobson, Linda Santilli, James Chappel, and Kirk Baacke Shueboard Olympics participants
