36 | LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2025 | On Sept. 21, some members of the Solera Pickleball Paddlers Club participated in The Senior 40th Annual Valley-Wide Recreation Oldlympics in Hemet, CA. Terrie and Ana María won 2nd place, receiving silver medals in the women's doubles pickleball competition. Ana María also won first place in the track & Field 3K run at the Hemet High School, receiving the Gold Medal in the women's category. Congratulations to all the participants! If you're new to the game or have played before, come join us for some exercise, fun, and new friends. We play every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at the Solera sports court starting at 7:30 am. If you don't have a paddle, many players will lend you one for the morning. Be sure to wear proper court shoes. PING PONG Tennis Titans would like to congratulate, salute, and celebrate our own competitors and winners for this year's 2025 competition. Herman and elma Jamilano won bronze in mixed tennis doubles! Congratulations! Every fall, the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District holds a series of competitions called "e Oldlympics" for people aged 50 and older. is year's 40th annual event was Sept. 15 to Oct. 7, held throughout the San Jacinto Valley. e Oldlympics annually draws more than 600 competitors. ere were 19 events over 18 days. Events include bench press, billiards, bingo, bowling, chair volleyball, cribbage, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, pinochle, Scrabble, shueboard, swimming, table tennis, tennis, Texas Hold'em, Tournament Blackjack, and track and eld.
