Happy Thanksgiving! And if you're a garden
enthusiast… Happy Harvest! Fall is a great
time of year for planting and harvesting. Ours is
a year-round temperate, Mediterranean climate
so we enjoy the bounty of being able to garden
during all times of the year. As we head into
November, many of us are taking advantage
of the valuable insights we gained from Ebon
Longfellow in October's presentation, Maintaining Healthy Garden
Soil for Planting.
This month, once again, we will gather in the Ballroom on Mon.,
Nov. 10 at 1 pm to glean Christine Lape's expertise on A Planting
Calendar for Vegetables & Melons. All Four Seasons residents are
invited and encouraged to attend. As there was in October, open
discussions and a Q & A Session will follow the presentation. You do
not need to be a member of Late Bloomers to attend.
We will wrap up the year with our traditional potluck feast this
month, and next month a group of us will be
attending the 77th Annual Feast of Lights held in
the University of Redlands Chapel. This seasonal
event, held the first weekend in December, is not
only traditional but moving. Many of us attended
this event last year and all agreed to make it an
annual outing. For more information, visit www.
cityofredlands.org. If you wish to attend with
Late Bloomers, Linda Hill has purchased a block of tickets for the
matinee performance at 4 pm on Dec. 7. You can contact Linda at
(619) 339-8937 or by email runnergmom@icloud.com
Cost of each ticket is $17.79 and payable to Linda if you join our
group.
All Four Seasons residents are welcome to join us for meetings
and excursions. For more information about Late Bloomers, please
contact Sharon Williams at (760) 500-0077 or SLWilliams51225@
gmail.com.
