October's Sunshine Kindness Award was presented by Sharon Uhlken to Barbara Hughes, for her spiritual support to friend Liz, coordinating Catholic Communions during her convalescence. Barbara engages in many selfless endeavors, including Bible Study within Four Seasons. Teams Sunshine Events Sept. Vaccination Clinic: 369 shots administered by Albertsons! Neuropathy Talk: Medical experts from the Loma Linda University Health Neuropathic Therapy Center joined our residents in the Ballroom last month for an informative presentation on this topic and related resources available. More than 20 million Americans have nerve damage in their extremities, a condition known as peripheral neuropathy (SOURCE: ihpi.umich.edu/news). Upcoming Events • Veterans Aairs – November (date TBD) Details are being finalized – to be announced soon via community email. • Worldwide Candle Lighting Event: Sun., Dec. 14 at 6:30pm Team Sunshine invites all Four Seasons' parents or grandparents who have experienced the loss of a child or grandchild to join us for this evening of remembrance and sharing. Team Sunshine Cancer Support Meeting The next meeting is Nov. 11 at 10 am at the Culton home (8190 Parry Drive). This successful support group now features a healthy meal prepared right before your eyes by resident Roberta Feigenbaum (scheduled every other month). Friends and family gathered on Oct. 26 in the Multipurpose room to honor John Hughes. A celebration of life will be held on Nov. 2 in the Ballroom to honor Sid Cohen. If you have a Four Seasons friend or neighbor who is struggling with illness, loss or needs a bit of cheer, please notify us so we may send them a card and follow up with a phone call.
