18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2025 | We begin this month's article with how we quilters like to spend our time⦠rocking away on a long porch somewhere on the veranda of life. In addition to quilting being a pastime, so are activities of a simpler time. Originating in the Southeast United States, Cracker Barrel has made a name for itself doing just that. Old fashioned Country Stores, warm, buttery comfort foods, and of course rocking chairs. In celebration of our fourth anniversary as a Club, Seasons Quilters traveled northwest to Rialto to visit one of only two Cracker Barrel restaurants in the entire state of California. With our first stop (of course) being a Quilt Shop in Riverside many a treasure was located, and an overall good time was had by all. As will be the surprised look on Sharon Lundstrom's great granddaughter's face when she receives this special quilt of memories from her volleyball jerseys as a graduation present. In addition to having fun, this group of quilters is most gratified when giving away their talent. Threaded, quilted, and pieced together creations behold special memories for the givers as well as the receivers, oftentimes marking milestones in each of their lives. We have another fun excursion planned for this month at the biennial Fallbrook Quilt Guild Quilt Show, "Quilted Treasures" to be held in the Son Rise Christian Fellowship. Located at 463 S .Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook on Friday and Saturday Nov. 7 and 8 from 10 am to 4 pm, more than 300 quilts will be on display. Vendor booths, a country store, door prizes, live demonstrations of various quilting techniques, and a quilt auction (at 12:30 pm) will be available both days. Admission is $10 with plenty of free parking available. Visit www.valleymqg.org for additional information. Seasons Quilters meets every Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room breaking for lunch at the Bistro at 12:30 pm. In November, we meet Nov. 6, 13 and 20. Having much to be thankful for, our Quilting Family wishes you and yours a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!
