| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2025 | 29 By the time that you read this article the Golf Cart Parade should be coming to your neighborhood in a few days. The Halloween Golf Cart Parade is scheduled to be held on Fri., Oct. 31, Halloween Day, at 6:30 pm with pre-parade line-up and social time starting at 6 pm! The parade is always a big hit with the community, some of the cart AND driver costumes are amazing. Lots of people show up for a preview and closer look at the golf cart/driver decorations. You do not have to go overboard with decorations or costumes. A string of lights or a banner would work; nor do you have to wear a costume. It is a hoot! So come to the Lodge and enjoy Halloween. The parade will take about 45minutes. Whether you participate in the parade or cheer them along as they drive by your house, we all will enjoy a bit of scary Americana. Flag Angels: The Flag Angels also have been terribly busy during the summer. They posted flags five times: Memorial Day, May 26 (throughout the community); Flag Day, June 14 (just Four Seasons and World Cup); Juneteenth, 19th (throughout the community); July 4 (throughout the community); and Labor Day, Sept. 1 (throughout the community). That is a lot of flags (about 7,500 up and 7,498 down)! Normally I would highlight one of the "Flag Angels" in the Herald in this space but I want to report on a significant event that just took place. The Board approved the purchase of new flags for the entire community (1,600 flags). The new flags are larger (12 x 18 inches), have a longer pole (30 inches), brighter/fade and weather resistant fabric, attachment sleeve, and "penciled" ends. The new flags will debut for Veterans' Day! See photo inset. The old flag on my right is coming off the pole (a common occurrence) and weather damaged. Many thanks to the Board who are very supportive of the Flag Angels. Cliff Post and the GM, Jon Payne, were especially helpful and played a very supportive role. A veritable love fest! The Flag Angels ranks are constantly changing. We have lost several angels due to assorted reasons. I have been able to replace those angels because substitutes volunteered to take a route full time (the Sunderlands for example). If anyone is interested in being a Flag Angel, I could still use a volunteer or two as substitutes. Brice and Denise Sunderland pitched in and took a route with over 20 cans! Their "how can we help" attitude is spectacular. Not only did they fill in, but they also agreed to take over the route on a permanent basis.
