| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2025 | 3 From the Desk of Gregg Ross Another annual Board election has come and gone. We had five candidates, and the three with the highest votes were Bob Miller, Glenn Gerber, and Pat Kight. They are all qualified and I look forward to working with them in the coming year. All the candidates participated in candidate interviews, the candidate's forum, and individual "Meet and Greet" gatherings. They all presented their perspective on being a Board member and the important aspects of that role. The HOA has used The Inspectors of Election, LLC (TIE) for the past several years to collect ballots and tally the election results. Since 2006, TIE has nationally serviced over 875,000 association members. And yes, they are an approved Community Associations Institute (CAI) vendor. CAI is an international community association membership organization with over 50,000 members and 64 chapters worldwide. CAI members include association Board members and other homeowner leaders, community managers, association management firms, and other professionals who provide products and services to community associations. So, why exactly would it be bad to hire a vendor that has been thoroughly "vetted" by an international organization that leads the field in community association excellence? I am not sure why some people view the world through a negative lens. I have been on the Board long enough to know the extent of the legal constraints Board members face daily. I don't see everything in a negative way, like some. I am just not wired that way. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy The Colony, all the activities and the great people who have realistic expectations and just want to enjoy life. So let me say again CONGRATULATIONS to the elected members of the Board! It is an honor to be chosen by the community to lead and navigate the challenges faced by the Board. Take care, and enjoy The Colony, knowing the Board cares about this community and strives to do the right thing for all residents.
