Woodchucks
Annual Pizza and Sawdust Meeting:
Our annual Pizza and Sawdust meeting went well on Oct. 1.
Delicious pizza from Grand Slam Pizza was served — and quickly
devoured!
The Lanai was "decorated" with many handmade (and
3D-printed!) toys from the Woodchucks' inventory. This display
not only showcased the creativity of our toy makers but was also
aimed at sparking interest by future volunteers who can help us
continue this wonderful tradition.
Vice President Larry See also gave a pen-making demonstration,
showing the steps involved in creating a wooden writing pen. These
pens are donated to a service organization called Turn Around for
Veterans, which sells them at events to help fund its programs.
Keep an eye out in the Clubhouse for our upcoming Toy Drive! The
space will be decorated with hundreds of handmade toys, as well as
new, unwrapped toys donated by you, our generous neighbors. All
of these go to the YMCA at Camp Pendleton, which distributes them
to active-duty Marine families for the holidays. There will also be a
donation box for checks and gift cards.
