| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2025 | 31 Music Lovers Feeling Grateful Is it just me or has this year simply flown by? Here we are in November, the month of giving thanks, and I'm feeling grateful for many things including that chill air in the mornings and evenings; the fall decorations brightening everyone's homes and the "Fallish" look of the Clubhouse. Most of all, I'm very grateful that The Music Lovers Club is going strong and is continuing into 2026! We have new officers that will lead the way in 2026. Thanks to our Board members serving another year and to our new President, Kris Bauer for taking over the reins. Our election Cocktail Hour drew a lot of members out to vote last month and then enjoyed the tunes from our Villages Band. This month, we're celebrating our third Annual Dinner on Nov. 19 in Abravanel Hall, and we hope you all have gotten your tickets. Our Musical Variety Show in September, "Broadway Hits", was a hit! For those of you who missed it, you can now enjoy the show in the comfort of your living rooms on channel 1960. As I close out my final year as president of our club, it's fitting that I take this opportunity to be thankful to those who helped support the Music Lovers Club this past year! Thank you to our Club Members for supporting all of our events. Thank you to our Board members, Guy Justice, Karla Sando, Kathy Whitten, Mike Cea, Kevin Sorenson, and Charmayne Huntley. Thank you to our Coffee House Monday Musicians: Brad Davidson, Lawrence Aiken, Howard Laurence, Tim Griffin, Greg Martin, Susan Brainin and Mike Cea. Thank you to the Villagers Band, Harvey Bernstein, Mike Cea, Robert Kelly, and Howard Laurence, for making it a joy and honor to perform with you all. Thank you, to our Musical Variety Show cast-members, support crew and supporters. There's not enough words or room here to tell you how much we appreciate all you did to make our show a success. Thank you to our volunteers throughout the year who helped set up and clean up after all our events. Have a great month especially to those who are celebrating birthdays in November. The Travel Club is busy planning day trips to parts of Southern California. Places we would like to visit and hope you will also. If there is a place you would like to visit or experience, please feel free to contact us (ohcctravelclub2025@gmail.com) with your suggestions. Here are our upcoming trips: Dec. 22: Join us for a trip to the San Diego Zoo for their holiday spectacular "Jungle Bells." We will experience the magic and spirit of the holiday season with the myriad dazzling lights, decorations, amazing entertainment plus a variety of dining options for dinner on your own. There will be entertainers such as Jingle Brass, a brass ensemble; Reindeer Games, an interactive experience of games and dances; Jack Frost Juggler; Holiday Troubadour; Toy Shop Hop and of course the animals (on exhibit until 5 pm). The price includes a one-day pass to the Zoo. 2026 Jan. 20: We will ring in the New Year at our Annual Kick-Off. A light meal with refreshments will be provided. Rosemary Bray will reprise her wonderful presentation on Rhinos. We will also update everyone on some of our upcoming trips. Frequently people on a trip need to cancel. Many people on our wait lists actually have had the opportunity to go on our trips. To be placed on the waitlist or to register for any of our trips, leave a check made out to the OH Travel Club, in the Travel Club envelope at the Clubhouse front desk. Add $5 to the price if you are not a member of the Club. You will receive an email confirming your registration. We certainly hope you will join us on one of our trips!
