| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2025 |27 Art Lovers The Art Lovers Club is here for folks like many of us, who love and appreciate art. We try to have interesting events at each of our monthly meetings. They are on the third Tuesday of every month. Also, our President Susan Pick, arranges special events every month to art galleries and other places that might appeal to "Art Lovers". On Oct. 22, the group had a very exciting car trip to the Bario Glass Works. There were interesting demonstrations of glass blowing and we all had an opportunity to shop in their gorgeous museum/gift shop. The studio is located in Carlsbad on Roosevelt Street. The visit was free, and many folks had lunch afterward. And of course, every month, we meet in the Mykonos Room, with a guest speaker or demonstration. Of course, our own Louise Peterson makes sure we have a delicious lunch. Also, I know we have talented people in the village. If you are one of them, we would love to show your artistic endeavors. On Thurs., Dec. 4, we will have our holiday lunch at El Camino Country Club. This is a new venue for our club, and we hope many of you will attend. There will be an interesting speaker. November's program is being planned, and knowing Susan, it will certainly be special. So, check the Clubhouse schedule and join us. All kinds of art bring a delight into our lives. We welcome the celebration of Thanksgiving, a special occasion to call to mind the pleasure of living here, among friends, in Ocean Hills, and, of course, to appreciate the love and comfort of family, whether near or far. We are grateful, also, for our many talented artists here in our community who are willing and, sometimes, especially grateful, for the opportunity to share their creativity with all of us here in OHCC. Recently installed in the Art Studio is a display of artistic talent, paintings in a variety of media: watercolor, oil, acrylic, and enamel. Come see the pieces. You may be inspired, yourself, to give painting a try! Now that residents' art is being displayed above the Clubhouse front desk, you can check out the changing works. Currently on display is a colorful, dramatic seaside scene by Michael Layne. We very much appreciate his willingness to share his creativity with all of us.
