Goldstein II PGA, Director of Golf Delegates self lessly perform a wide variety of functions to help make your life at Sun Lakes all it could be. Everyone holds personal reasons for choosing to be Delegate. It's a way to give back, to be involved with neighbors and discover a path to new friends and relationships. Delegates have a servant's heart, willing to help when called. They are the CEO of a not-for-profit organization (their District) working to knit the community in deeper bonds. In pursuit of that goal, they write then distribute a monthly newsletter to every house in their Districts. They are the spark that ignites District functions, enabled by their drive, vision and planning. They have responsibility to raise the funds necessary to support the two charitable causes adopted by the Delegate Assembly – Fill the Pantry at the Banning Senior Center and the Holiday Wish program. They increase their knowledge of how the community of Sun Lakes operates in order to aid residents seeking help to resolve the problems that inevitably come. They are the ones people call upon for answers on how to navigate problems with neighbors or issues with administration. If your Delegate can't immediately answer your question, he/she has the means to find the right course of action. Delegates are frequently called upon by the Master Board and groups trying to communicate their message to the community. Your Delegate is the beating heart of your District but does not succeed by himself (herself). They rely on volunteers to help execute their planned events, EPAP functions, newsletter delivery, bookkeeping and banking that go on throughout the year. If you're not currently active in District affairs, consider becoming involved. Your District needs your help to craft the best possible environment for your neighborhood. When you begin to give back to your neighbors, the connections you'll make will often blossom from acquaintances to friendships. Can there be a better use of our time? ~ Cal Martin From the Delegate Assembly From the Pro Shop
