| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2025 | 43
THE YIDDISH CULTURE CLUB WELCOMES ALL RESIDENTS OF ANY DENOMINATION
Yiddish Culture Club invites you to a
Hannukah Celebration on Wed., Dec. 10 at 6
pm in the South Clubhouse. Members are $10.
Guests are $15. Open seating, reservations
required.
Music, games, prizes, food and fun — come to
a Hannukah celebration and connect with your
inner child as you reminisce of Hannukahs you
celebrated in years past. Engage in activities you
loved as a child, such as drawing or playing games
as you challenge your friends to a game of Jewish
Bingo and/or Kosher Quest or even Toss the Bagel.
Hanukkah traditions include lighting a
menorah, playing the dreidel game, and eating
foods fried in oil like latkes. We will be serving
latkes (with applesauce and sour cream),
sandwiches and wraps, cole slaw and potato
salad and sufganiyot (jelly donuts). Other
customs involve singing special songs, giving gelt
(chocolate coins), exchanging gis, and saying
the Hallel prayer as we express joyous praise and
collective gratitude to God for His acts of kindness
and salvation.
Deliver checks made out to YCC to the home of
Denny Rugenstein at 5052 Hilton Head no later
than Dec. 6 at 6 pm. Also, please join us on Sun.,
Dec. 14 at 4:45 pm at the Main Clubhouse Portico
for our Menorah Lighting along with prayers and
songs.
