| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2025 | 67 Billiards Our Summer/Fall 8-Ball League season has completed, and the top four teams will be competing in the Playoffs beginning Dec. 4. Stay tuned for the results and winners to be posted next month. Billiards will be hosting a Holiday Celebration and Awards Ceremony for the 8-Ball team winners on Dec. 21 in the South Clubhouse. Guests will enjoy a catered dinner, awards presentation and some holiday surprises. It will be a chance for the players to unwind from all the competition this past season and enjoy some holiday cheer. Sign-ups for the 2026 Winter/Spring 8-Ball League have already begun. Players wanting to play in the league can sign up in the Billiards Room. If you are interested in playing, we have a team of experienced players that will evaluate new players so that you will play at your current skill level. For those who want to play billiards but are not interested in playing in a league environment, there is social play in the Billiards Room Monday through Friday from 12 to 2 pm. Play starts promptly at 12 pm when players are paired up with a partner for the two hours of play. Our club is now on hiatus for the next two months. Play will resume on Feb. 16, 2026. Enjoy the holidays! Our fall tournament ended in November and we congratulate all the winners. Names will be posted on the bulletin board and will be included in next month's article. Our October general membership meeting and Lasagna dinner were a huge success. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the 50-50 and all those who donated above and beyond. Proceeds from the 50-50 will go towards the cost of adding rubber bumpers to the side boards in the hopes of increasing the balls reaction. Fingers crossed. If you are interested in learning to play Bocce or are looking for new teammates, there is a Saturday morning group who meet at the courts around 8:30 am. Dianne Stigall is the leader and is happy to help and instruct new players or anyone interested in upping their Bocce skills. All are welcome. This is a good way to stay active during our break.
