18 | OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2025 | Holiday greetings to OHCC from the Clubhouse! Decorations are up, lights are on, Menorahs are erected, and the Lobby tree is decorated, along with a sparkle of smaller trees adorning the front entrance. December has caught up with us faster than expected. This month is packed with holiday parties, about 15 to be exact. After the 20th of December most activity will stop and reconvene in early January, with the kickoff of 2026 on Do Dues Day on Jan. 10. This month, the Recreation Department is hosting the holiday golf cart parade on the 15th; we are taking sign-ups now. Anyone is welcome to join us at this annual event beginning in the Overflow Parking Lot at 5 pm. One will see creativity at its finest, not to mention the fur babies that all come dressed up. A map of the route will be distributed by Eblast, or a copy can be picked up in the Clubhouse. Our viewing audience will watch from their driveways, toddies in hand, and cheering the carts as they go by. CPS will guide us through the streets, as the sun sets the lights become visible. We thank the officers for keeping the parade moving along and providing for our safety. Our AV crew will be filming the event so all those participating can view later on the in-house Channel 1960. The New Year's Eve Party is of course on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, at 8 pm and tickets are available for only $80 per person. Where else can anyone get free parking, dance with neighbors, and get home safely? Get that glitzy outfit on and get ready for a night of dancing, laughter, and celebration. Clubs are sponsoring holiday programs that the community can participate in include Doo Wop's "Meet the Santa" on Sat., Dec. 6 and Choral Society's Concert is on Sun., Dec. 7. Golf Course Tags are on order; distribution will be announced by Eblast. All golfers, including flingers, must display a tag while on the Course. There is no cost for the required annual tag. As 2026 approaches, we wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! We appreciate all the support and expressions of kindness along the way. 'Tis the season to be jolly and we would like this joy to spread throughout the Clubhouse. Thank you from the staff; we wish each of you a month of good will, good health, and lasting memories. Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year 2026! ~ It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving- Mother Teresa Recreation News By Christy Bessey I want to share some quick but important advice to help you avoid becoming a victim of a real estate scam. Some agents may appear to represent you but act in their own interest instead. They might: • Limit showings or withhold outside offers. • Convince you that "no one wants your home." • Then offer to buy it themselves at a below-market price — only to remodel and resell it for a profit. This is a bait-and-switch tactic, and unfortunately, the seller (you) ends up losing valuable equity. • Review your listing contract carefully. Make sure it requires all offers to be presented to you immediately — it's California law. • Prohibit your agent (or anyone tied to them) from buying your property. This removes conflict of interest. • Request showing feedback regularly. It keeps your agent accountable and ensures your home is being properly marketed. • Ask if your agent has any nancial connection to potential buyers or investors. Transparency matters. Your home is one of your biggest assets. You deserve an agent who is loyal, transparent, and fully focused on getting you top dollar. Let's have a quick conversation about how I market and protect my clients' best interests. I'm happy to review your situation confidentially and make sure your sale is handled safely and successfully.
