| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2025 |25 RV Club November took our club to Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay in Chula Vista for an early Thanksgiving celebration with highlights including a traditional Thanksgiving Feast, Dinner Detective Show, taco bar (I mean what doesn't say Thanksgiving like tacos?) and many other fun planned activities all thanks to the wonderful Wagon Masters Porters & Helpers. Dec. 2 was our Annual Holiday Dinner Dance in Abravanel Hall, with this year's theme, "All Spruced Up" and was catered by Sessions with a delicious array of gourmet food and music by MYDJ Alex, sponsored by Barbara DuDeck of REMAX Connections. A fine time was had by all. On Dec. 8 the club is off to Rancho Jurupa Valley Regional Park in Riverside where food, friendship and games and a visit to the spectacular Mission Inn Christmas Festival of Lights. A big thank you to Wagon Masters Chris and Donna Butler. As this year comes to a close, we look forward to more great upcoming events and adventures to include a trip to San Mateo Campground in San Clemente in March. Whale Watching onboard of Captain Dave's Whale Watching Safari/cruise from Dana Point will be just one of the fun activities. The RV Club wishes each of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and a safe and prosperous New Year! Remember, the trip you didn't take is likely the one you'll regret missing. Written by Marshall Kelsay Come and see what the Sewing Etc. Club has to offer. Actually, don't just see but join! If you pay Sewing Etc. Club dues in December, your membership will carry over through 2026. Dues are still just $7 per year (less than one Starbucks). Now that's a great bargain! Although we don't have a general membership meeting or any classes in December, the Sewing Room has regular reservations for members who gather for a variety of crafts. Unless classes preempt the activities, the room is reserved every Tuesday from 3 to 4:45 pm (knitters/crocheters) and from 6 to 8 pm (sew, craft, knit, etc.). Every Friday from 9:30 am to noon is reserved for "Drop in Sewing" and from noon to 3 pm for a "Sharing Group of Crafters." Saturday is reserved for "Sit and Sew." These very creative groups donate a lot of their work for the benefit of local organizations including military families from Camp Pendleton. Our monthly meetings resume in January and are usually held on the first Thursday of the month at 9:30 am; however, the first Thursday in January happens to fall on New Year's Day, followed by Do Dues Day on Sat., Jan. 10. Therefore, we decided to start the year with a Meet & Greet event on Sat., Jan. 22 in the Mykonos Room. All members are invited to come for treats and activities from 9 to 11:30 am. New and old members will be advised as the day approaches. Scheduled classes will also begin in January. Check the Sewing Room counter for clipboards to sign up for classes. Announcements will be sent out as soon as classes are scheduled. If you have an interest in a particular craft and would like to attend or lead a class, please contact Jacqueline Ettinger, jleder1000@gmail.com. If you need information on any activities, you can call or text Marylu Belisle at (952) 454-1931 or visit our club site on the main OHCC website under the Sewing Etc. Club. Please check us out! We're a friendly, creative bunch and look forward to seeing you soon! Happy Holidays! Submitted by Diana Homan Sewing Etc. Club
