| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2025 | 33 Club W Our mothers told us it's not polite to brag, but sometimes we can't help ourselves. That is the plight of Club W in the month of November. Carol Meuret, a relatively new OHCC resident, and a new member of Club W, has really stepped up. She brought joy to many people, who might otherwise have been alone on Thanksgiving. After gaining permission from Chris Bessey and the Recreation Department of OHCC, Carole planned and arranged our Thanksgiving dinner, open to the community. The price was only $10 for turkey and all the trimmings. Being the first year, it was shut off at 100 people. Next year, hopefully, even more. Occasions like this are what Club W is all about. We want to be there for all our members, for solace, for fun, and in any way we are needed. And now onward to December. We will have our holiday luncheon on Sat., Dec. 20 in Abravanel Hall, at 12 noon. The cost will be $32 for members, and $37 for non-members. There will be a three-course sit-down luncheon. Catered by The Village Pie shop. Our program director, Julie Baumer has arranged for us to be entertained with a bevy of holiday songs. Drop your reservation and check at the Clubhouse front desk in the Club W envelope. We at Club W are proud of our accomplishments; we started with 10 people and now have over 100. Many thanks to our hard-working Club W Board of Directors for their participation all year. We wish everyone Happy Holidays. Written by Selma Leighton I hope you all have the Dec. 7 Choral Society Concert on your calendar. It's coming up within a few days, and you don't want to miss it. It is in Abravanel Hall at 2 pm with the doors opening at 1:30 pm. Our concerts are always free, and seating is first come first served. It fills up fast and you don't want to get shut out because there aren't any seats left. We have had people pulling chairs in from the lobby but there is a limit on attendance in the room determined by the Fire Marshall, so you don't want to be the one in the lobby singing to yourself. The theme for the concert is "Gifts of the Season." We have been working hard on this concert and are looking forward to sharing this beautiful music with all of our friends and neighbors here at Ocean Hills Country Club. It is the sharing that is the best part of the experience of singing as a group in front of a live audience. I look forward to it so much every year. After the concert, we will be taking a little time off before we start rehearsing for the Spring Concert. If you want to find out more about our group, stop by and talk to the folks at our table on Do Dues Day in January. The website for the Choral Society is http:// ohchorale.wixsite.com/ohchorale. It is also available on the Ocean Hills Country Club website. Scan the QR code and it will also take you to the website. Written by Jack Shabel Choral Society Exciting news for the upcoming shows in 2026! You asked for it, and we are delivering! You may now purchase season tickets for our dynamic, professionally produced shows. As OHCC Residents, you have three choices for purchasing tickets in 2026. Star Donors - $500: For $500 you can be a star donor and have first choice for the best seats in the house. ($380 of the amount is tax deductible and you will not wait in line. You can renew it starting on Nov. 15.) Star Donors will enjoy a pre-show chocolate and champagne reception before each show. In addition, the Star Donors are treated to a special annual event where you will be first to hear about the upcoming shows. Last but not least, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are instrumental in keeping the ticket prices reasonable for the rest of your community. Season Ticket Holders - $300: For $300 you will be able to choose the seats available, starting on Jan. 13, for all three of the upcoming shows. ($180 is tax deductible.) You will purchase your tickets in advance for the entire year, and you'll enjoy the same seats for the whole year. Did we mention you can purchase unlimited seats at this cost? Before each show, your tickets will be mailed to you. We believe that this choice will be popular among our residents. General Tickets - $40: For $40 you will enjoy a top-rated, live performance, hand-picked, just for you. It is without a doubt the best value you can find anywhere in San Diego County or California for that matter. Every seat in the house is comparable to an orchestra seat in a concert hall. All shows start at 7:30 pm. The line-up for 2026 is… Feb. 21: Live from Brandson, Dean Z - The Ultimate Elvis May 16: Live from Canada, Abbamania - A Tribute to Abba Nov. 14: Live from New York, The Bachelors of Broadway We look forward to seeing you next year!
