| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2025 | 37 Golf Club December is here and while our official golf season is just about done, we still have to crown our Ace of the Year. Guys and Dolls were held on Oct. 25 with only one magic circle winner, Frank Abe. Closest to the pin were Suchiko Okada and Greg Coffey. Low gross on the day were the Royters, Cies, and Westwater at seven under! Best Halloween spirit goes to Rich and Vicki Komiserak (pictured left). On Oct. 30 we had our first Volunteer Appreciation luncheon for all those who have generously supported our club this year (pictured below). It was a resounding success — many thanks to Terry Chamberlin and her crew. Remember, we always need more volunteers, so if you can help, please step up. Our new club sport, FlingGolf, held their FlingFest Pro-am Fun Scramble on Oct. 31. Thirty lucky Flingers got to play with 15 pros, including the #1 ranked player in the world. The enthusiasm and joy were contagious, ensuring everyone had a great time. Many thanks go to Jaimie Rook of JMR Realty for hosting the event. The October Touring Amateurs was held at the Links at Lake San Marcos. Magic circle winners were Bob Fisher, Hank Jones, Richard Komisarek, and Scott Sloan. Closest to the pin were Bill Gillan and Vicki Komisarek. Low gross on the day with 11 under score was the team of Todd Albiston, Debbie Machnick, Bob Fisher, and John Drace. There would be no Touring Amateurs without our sponsors, Jonathan Burrough from Amada Senior Care and Darcy Clevenger from Aegis Living Shadowridge (pictured at left). Next time you are out there enjoying the swag and donuts and coffee they provide, be sure to thank them. We look forward to their continued partnership in the years to come. In regular tournament play our most recent Hole-In-One recipient was Patti Waterman on #9 on Oct. 20. Way to go Patti! The Golf Club will host its holiday party on Dec. 9, planned by Terry Chamberlin and her amazing volunteers. Hope you can come. If you would like to join the golf club or renew early, please go to OHGC.net and use the link to pay online. It's only $15 and gets you access to everything we do. If you have pics to share, please send them to me. I love featuring US! Written by Teresa Deutman As we go into the holiday season, there's plenty to be thankful for, especially living here in Ocean Hills Country Club, meeting so many wonderful people, and having so many activities to enjoy. Seriously, I feel like a little kid in a candy store. One of my favorite things about OHCC is sitting in the hot tub and hearing everyone's stories. We could all write a book called "Been There, Done That." Each story reminds me how lucky we are to be part of a community filled with wisdom, humor, and heart. The best part? We're still adding new chapters every day. Speaking of chapters, the OHCC Billiards Club is growing with new faces and new fun things. We've got Ken's Ladder, a 9-ball challenge where anyone can climb to the top and earn an OHCC- monogrammed tumbler. There's 3-Ball, where both sharks and minnows compete for a jumbo 11-oz. Bärenbrezel pretzel. Add to that pool instruction sessions, golf (pool-style), pizza parties, and plenty more in the works whereby the Billiards Club continues to be an exciting, welcoming part of our wonderful community. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year! ~ Written by Golden Harris Billiards Winners of the skills contests David Key, rst to win our new tumblers. Ken and Don are beginning to eat their weight in pretzels
