16| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2026 | A humongous THANK YOU goes to the Ad-Hoc Decorating Committee! The Main Clubhouse looked absolutely amazing; they truly outdid themselves once again. Thanks also goes to the Recreation Committee for supporting the Recreation Department all year. Our events wouldn't be successful without their dedication. Now that the holidays are behind us, it's time to prepare for the New Year. Each year I tell myself that I'll eat healthier, exercise a little more, and take some extra time for myself. This is the year; I can feel it! Here are some tips to help make our New Year's resolutions stick: 1. Be Realistic – Choose goals that are attainable so you don't set yourself up for frustration. 2. Outline Your Plan – Think ahead about how you'll handle temptation so you don't fall back into old habits. 3. Talk About It – Share your goals with family and friends so they can encourage and support you. 4. Track Your Progress – Use a calendar or calendar app to monitor your daily and weekly accomplishments. 5. Stick to It – Experts say it takes about 21 days to build a habit and about six months for it to become part of your lifestyle. Don't get discouraged! This month is all about refreshing, recovering from the holidays, regrouping, and beginning to plan the exciting new events we have coming up. Please be on the lookout in the February Lifestyles for more upcoming event lineup. Message From The Recreation Department Activities Day is early this year — Sat., Feb. 7 from 10 am to 12 noon. This event gives each club and group a chance to reach out to residents who may be interested in joining. Don't miss out on the fun and excitement. Each year, Sun Lakes clubs, groups, and recreation programs come together to showcase the very best our vibrant community has to offer. Whether you're looking to join a new club or try your hand at 8-ball, tennis, ping pong, pickleball, bocce, or discover an entirely new hobby, this is the event for you! You'll also have the chance to meet members of our advisory committee; many are looking for new members this fall. Volunteer Interest Forms will be available at the event. Mark your calendars and invite your friends and neighbors. Don't miss this exciting day of fun, discovery, and community connection. Committees, clubs, and groups may sign up at the Main Clubhouse reception for a table starting Jan. 11. Activities Day Outside Alcohol: We ask that you refrain from bringing outside alcohol onto our Veranda. Such actions could jeopardize our liquor license, and we trust you would not wish to be responsible for any resulting consequences. Table Arrangements: Please refrain from saving or pushing tables together unless your entire party is present. Assistance with Moving Furniture: For your safety and the safety of others, kindly request assistance from a staff member if you need to move tables or bring additional chairs. Plasticware: Plasticware will be provided on the Veranda during large events, including Friday and Saturday night entertainment. Following these guidelines, along with all other rules, is essential to ensuring that every resident enjoys a pleasant experience here at Sun Lakes. LOUNGE & VERANDA RULES MAIN & NORTH CLUBHOUSE POOLS Important Reminders: • You must always accompany your guests. • Designated children's hours are from 10 am to 2 pm. • As the resident, you are responsible for your guest's actions. • Please note that guests are not allowed at the South Clubhouse indoor pool.
