The Australian Open on Jan. 12 — Tennis takes center stage in Melbourne. NBA London Game on Jan. 18 — Basketball excitement across the pond. If sports aren't your thing, just enjoy the food. All Elvis Presley fans, let's celebrate his birthday on Jan. 8. SLCC Chef Lala has created an Elvis-inspired special. During the week of Jan. 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., we will feature luscious pecan pie. National Chocolate Cake Day is Tues., Jan. 27 — chocolate lovers around the world celebrate this decadent dessert and indulgent treat. Our Lounge Bar always has new cocktails and mocktails to try. This month, enjoy great winter warmers to beat the post-holiday blues. Join us for week-long specials from Jan. 11 to 17: Try an Earl Grey MarTEA ni or a Forbidden Sour, or a Whiskey Skin (also known as the original Hot Toddy). Warm up by the fireplace or one of our big-screen TVs with the classic Sun Lakes version of a Boozy Hot Chocolate or Ponche Navideno made with rum — a hot Mexican fruit punch. Of course, we will continue the popular Prime Rib Thursday dinner special throughout the month in the restaurant. Happy Hour runs Tuesday through Thursday, and live music takes place every Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm in the Lounge. Mark your calendars and call for reservations at (951) 769-6654. The Restaurant will be open for dinner only on the second Saturday of the month on Jan. 10 and again on Feb. 14 from 4:30 to 8 pm. Always call ahead for reservations.
