| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2026 | 3 From the Master Board Happy New Year everyone! We have completed the first quarter of this new century. Remember stressing over Y2K? This is the year we need to start thinking about and planning how to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sun Lakes Country Club which occurs in 2027. December was great fun with holiday parties and decorating and visits with loved ones, singing songs and eating traditional (and maybe some new) foods, and perhaps some holiday travel! January is often the time when we ref lect on the joyous celebrations of the holidays as we put our decorations and gifts away, and then turn our thoughts to the year ahead and our goals and dreams. As a Board, January is the month we will turn to creating the annual strategic plan for the community with goals related to the use of technology solutions to be more effective, new programs to grow our amenities, service level goals to meet the needs of our residents, and establishing routine financial review and measuring performance to our budget and reserves study. We are also looking forward to increasing engagement with the Advisory Committees and the District Delegates for their expertise and knowledge. Over the holidays we also witnessed the installation of the new clock tower and personalized bricks that commemorate residents who are loved and remembered. Bricks will be on sale daily and when there is a full order, they will be ordered and delivered for the next installation. For those thinking of resolutions for the New Year, volunteering for one of the committees, for EPAP, or the delegates or even for the Master Board is something to seriously consider. January is the month to submit your candidacy for the Board or Delegate positions available in the April election. Applications for the Advisory Committees can be submitted anytime. Whether you are new to Sun Lakes, or you have been here 35 years, we need your good spirit and fresh ideas to get involved and keep our community moving forward. If the time commitment for a committee or Board is too much, just keep looking out for your neighbors, lend a helping hand, express your kindness and gratitude for our staff, or volunteer at one of the many organizations in our city to help make this a better place.
