6 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2026 | Being prepared will save your life! By Janis Rice, EPAP PIO Happy New Year from your EPAP Executive Team. For the past year and a half, we have been informing you how to be prepared. Well, here's to the new year and more reminding. Let's focus on personalizing a plan. 1. Update your contact list. Contact information changes over the year; family and friends may not be with us anymore or may have moved away. Medical providers change as well — make sure your contact details are current. This includes your "File of Life." 2. Rotate and update your medication. Make sure all your prescriptions are current and your supplies have not expired/gone out of date. This includes over the counter drugs as well. If you use medical devices that require batteries, be sure to replace your battery supplies and/ or recharge your power stations. 3. Refresh the clothing you have in your go back and/or stay box. The weather has changed so change them out as well. 4. Make sure you have a current evacuation plan and route. Know the best route for you and your family members and have a meeting location. If you have a pet, know what shelters you and your pet will take. MOST IMPORTANTLY – Sun Lakes Country Club is divided into districts. Each district has a District Delegate and EPAP Volunteers to assist in the event of an emergency. It is very important that you have the phone numbers for them and your closest neighbors. Below is a detachable list for you to fill out and save. REMEMBER… BEING PREPARED WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. EPAP ANIMAL RESCUE GROUP We meet at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room on the third Monday of the following five months each year: September, November, January, March, and May. We strive to bring interesting and informative guest speakers to our meetings to help you keep your animals safe and healthy.
