FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2026 55 Happy New Year to you and yours! Can you believe we are already at the start of another trip around the sun? Wow! Last year was a fantastic year of growth and competition for our awesome club, and we are so excited to see what 2026 has in store for us. The promise of the New Year is a perfect time for us to ref lect, renew, and set some goals. I know I always do. Part of my goal- setting involves appreciating where we live — the beautiful surroundings — and especially those fantastic pickleball courts. A Hearty anks to the Heart of the Club This is also the perfect time to show some sincere appreciation for the people leading our club: our incredible Steering Committee. They are truly the beating heart of the pickleball experience. Think about it: • The fun tournaments? They make them happen. • The lively social gatherings? Not without them. • The new balls that magically appear on the courts? They purchased and rolled them out. These are just a few of the crucial behind-the-scenes activities we often take for granted. This committee dedicates its time to keeping our club amazing and our courts humming with activity. The photo of your 2026 Steering Committee is above at right, so you'll know who to thank with a high-five when you see them on the courts. Special shout-out to Marty Key, our decorating dynamo. If you notice that our court fence always looks festive when you walk in, you have one person to thank: Marty Key. Marty makes sure we are always decorated for the holidays, no matter the time of year. She did it again, with her fun Christmas décor. The photo of them with the very cute pickleball wreath is above at left, so you can see her festive touch. Thanks so much for bringing that extra sparkle to our club, Marty. I hope your holidays were absolutely wonderful, but I'm just so excited for the new year. I hope you are too. Let's have some awesome play, tons of laughs, and, most of all, let's keep the spirit of fun and great sportsmanship high this year.
