Happy New Year to everyone! If you joined us for the New Year's Eve Potluck and Party, we hope you had a great time. We on the Welcome Committee really enjoyed hosting the party and getting to welcome in the new year with so many of our neighbors. Many thanks to Ronnie Zacker for leading this super fun event, George Vawter for being a fantastic DJ and photo-taker, all of the Welcome Committee members (Janet Beck, Cindy Bice, Margaret Bly, Jodi Lindman, Jill Markman, Karrla Hutton), Sandy Stearn, Dorothy Hoffecker. I'll include photos from the party in next month's article. Another Special ank You: I want to give a huge shout out to Bette Rader, Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, and a Solera resident, for all of the support she and her staff provide our committee and our new residents. For a year and a half, we've been providing new residents with a tote bag of Solera and Beaumont information and resources. The tote bags and Beaumont-related materials are generously provided by Bette and her team, for which we are very grateful. The tote bags have been a big hit! New Resident Update: As of Nov. 30, 84 new households (149 people) have joined the Solera community. Among them are Eduardo Lopez and Yanelis Martinez, and Joe Gonzales and Cam Christopherson. We hope all new residents are enjoying being part of this wonderful community. If you are new to Solera and would like to be featured in one of our monthly articles, please let me know. "Neighborly" quote of the month: "Being a good neighbor is an art which makes life richer." ~ Gladys Taber ~ Brenda Dewey, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee, (951) 499-7790 or mnbdewey@yahoo.com | LIFE IN SOLERA | JANUARY 2026 | 5 Welcome Committee Communications & Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) Happy New Year from the CTAC Committee. We hope everyone had joyous and wonderful holidays. Please be careful as SCAMS are alive and well, wanting to take your money and information. They can be in a form of emails, text messages or phone calls. If you don't recognize a phone number, please do not answer. Let it go to voice mail. Don't respond to text messages if you don't know who that person is contacting you. Always confirm with a call to the credit card company if they say they are calling about your account. Check with your children if you get a phone call saying they are in need of money. AI (Artificial Intelligence) can be a culprit in disguising voices and sending messages. Please be cautious with new technology. Eduardo Lopez and Yanelis Martinez Joe Gonzales and Cam Christopherson
