| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2026 | 7 e New Year Brings New Interior Design Plan for Our Lodge Even though you may use our Lodge every day, there's no getting around the fact that it is well over 20 years old and has never had a significant interior design update. As our primary amenity enjoyed daily by residents and visitors alike, we need to ensure that it remains an attractive and viable asset by giving it a much-needed interior design refresh. Earlier this year, the Board approved the Capital Improvements Committee (CIC) request to work with a well-vetted interior designer, Kristen Bradshaw Interiors, to develop three interior design alternatives for our Lodge and Gym/Salon. The process has been an exhaustive one. Kristen toured our facilities several times, reviewed building plans, worked with a CIC and Facilities sub-committee, interviewed several residents who regularly use certain facilities, and consulted with Bistro and management staff. Finally, she's held review and input meetings with our committee chairs, additional community leaders, and the Board. As the process progressed, it became clear that in addition to the design update, several amenities are currently underused while at the same time, we are short of space for resident needs such as meetings, gathering spaces and storage. The plans developed by Kristen Bradshaw address these issues and propose several exciting new uses for currently underused space in the Theater and Computer Room. The plan also presents ideas for improving the Bistro and Lodge entry by making them more comfortable, usable and inviting for residents. All plan updates use improved materials that will better stand the test of time. From carpet tiles instead of broad-loom, to wood-grain tiles in our high traffic areas, the updates freshen the look of our amenities, while blending well with our beautiful existing architecture and preserving the excellent bones of the buildings that often feel and serve as our second home. Here's Where You Come In: Community Workshop Jan. 13 As part of the update, we've scheduled a community workshop for Jan. 13 in The Lodge Ballroom. There will be two sessions: 10:30 am and 6:30 pm so that everyone in the community has a chance to participate. At this workshop, you'll get to see the vision for The Lodge and amenities as well as three design "mood boards" with different materials, colors, and furniture. At the end, you'll get to provide input and vote on your preferred option. Your votes and opinions provide vital input to the Board. After the meeting results have been tallied, Kristen will make any necessary plan revisions. Once the plan is complete, she'll generate cost estimates to present to the Board. With Board approval of the final design and related budget, work will be scheduled to begin on the Ballroom phase of the project. The Ballroom was identified as priority phase 1, since it is widely used for many functions and the carpet is well over the end of its' useful life. At this point, it can no longer be cleaned or stretched. The completed Ballroom will also demonstrate how other planned updates will be applied throughout The Lodge. So, mark your calendar and plan to attend one of the workshop sessions on Tues., Jan. 13 at either 10:30 am or 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
