10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | DECEMBER 2025
By eresa Rossetti, Resident
If this title resonates with you, you have raised
children, have grandkids or great grandkids or
you yourself are bored of the same old, same
old. What to do with them, or yourself, on
a day when you just want to go out and DO
SOMETHING, but you don't want to go far?
After all you must be home for Jeopardy,
or The Game, or some event, or whatever.
Which leads me to a new business not far
from us, with cute animals and both tasty
and useful products for sale. Better still, they
have a Petting Zoo and Farm Tours to keep the kids
amused and provide a teachable moment for adults as
well.
Recently the owners moved their farm from Ontario (the one in
California, not the one in Canada). With every good intention to
check it out when it opened, I immediately did not do that at all.
And every time we drove past, I vowed again. Fortunately, after
seeing and purchasing a few of their cheeses at a local farm stand,
I was hooked. I now have three small tubs in my freezer
(sold frozen at the farm) with plans for snacking
and attempting a cheesy pasta sauce.
As an active farm, making cheese, soaps
and lotions from their goat's milk, they are
open to the public on Saturdays only, from
10 am till 2 pm. During those hours they
also have a petting zoo area with goat feed
available for purchase. Recently they have
added monthly Farm Tours; tickets must
be purchased in advance on their website. So
where is it? Leaving SDV exit to Warren going
south. Instead of turning toward Domenigoni,
stay straight on Simpson. The farm is on the north
side (right-side for the directionally challenged) about halfway
between Warren and Winchester. If you need to program your
GPS, the address is 33920 Simpson Rd., Winchester, CA. It's a bit
tough to see the entrance going west, easier if you're driving in the
opposite direction. Wear sneakers!
