| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2026 |27 Art Lovers The Art Lovers Club held its annual holiday luncheon on Thurs., Dec. 4 at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside. The luncheon was well-attended and after a delicious three-course lunch, we were very fortunate to have Cheryl Ehlers, the president of the very prestigious North Coastal Art Gallery in Carlsbad. She spoke to us about running the art gallery, the importance of networking in the art world, and she even brought some of her paintings to show and discuss with us. A good time was had by all! The Art Lovers Club of OHCC wishes all residents a very happy holiday and a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026. Respectively written by Susan Pick, President Oh, my! Take a deep breath! We now are starting 2026. How quickly the months fly by. We hope that you had an enjoyable celebration of Christmas and/or Chanukah and ringing in the New Year. And our artists continue to flourish. Perhaps you had a chance to bring friends or relatives to our Art Studio, to share with them the beautiful creative endeavors of our residents. The current display features art in various media: oil, watercolor, and acrylic. Can you see the difference between them? And can you imagine the different techniques necessary to apply them to the art surface material? Surely, we can appreciate the talent on display here. Also, we appreciate the willingness of our resident artists to allow us to display their beautiful art at the Clubhouse front desk. Thanks to our talented neighbor, Sanford Sherman, for sharing his work. As always, we thank Mike Thornton for his help in the installation, which sometimes requires hammer, nails, screwdriver, and a long reach. If you would like to have your talent on display in the Art Studio in the future, please contact the writers of this article Judy Harris and Lainy Vinikow. Art Studio
