If that doesn't work, go to OHGC.net and use the links to pay online $15 gets entry with valid handicap to all of our tournaments. So, what can we expect in 2026? Our club runs over 250 events a year including our Flingers along with summer and holiday parties and hopefully some special tournaments once our course is open to 18 holes. Did you know there are an estimated 40,000 tee shots hit a year? It's January and when weather gets in the way of playing it's a great time to refresh your knowledge around local rules, using sand to fill in divots at the tee and fixing ball marks on greens. There are several videos on our golf website to watch. January is also a good month to clean out your bag, assess your grips and replace as needed to prepare for the season ahead. We are looking for volunteers to run tournaments. Queen of the Green for 2025 was Karen Horn — congratulations to her (pictured at left) taking over from last year's Queen Patti Waterman. Also pictured below are the other 11 Aces of the month who competed for the Crown and their Caddies. Huge thanks to the women's golf league who planned and executed a great day on the course. Pictures are on our website. The niners also had their Ace of the year, Alan Hawkins (at left) — congratulations to him for a net even par round! Our club is run by Mike Guillory, Kathleen Cannon, Mark Deutman, Mary LaForte with our tournament chairs Debbie Machnick and Todd Albiston, Mike Bell, Don Quigley, Annette Guillory, Mark and Teresa Deutman, Alan Colson, Tom Vacarro and Jim Kaminsky run our computer details while Natalie Sentz runs rules, and Robbie Sullivan is our new secretary with Larry McBride ensuring all Holes in One are celebrated. Terry Chamberlin, Sue Cooke and Sue Bourland help keep us cheerful and organized! Thanks to Darlene Fayhe our outgoing secretary, for her support. A very special thanks to Jerry Moskovitz for all his years supporting the handicap process and golf course committee as well. Handicapping is a time-consuming task, and we appreciate all his dedication to our club. See you on the course! Written by Teresa Deutman As we roll into a brand-new year, the Ocean Hills Billiards Club wishes everyone a happy and healthy 2026. When you think about it, the game of pool is a mirror of life itself. Success begins with focus, but wisdom comes from knowing your own strengths and weaknesses — understanding when it's time to go for the shot and when it's smarter to play safe. No two racks are ever the same. Every break presents a new layout, just as each day offers a fresh start. Missed shots are best left behind, and even great shots shouldn't be carried too far forward. Staying present is what keeps the game — and life — moving smoothly. Enjoy the process and remember that luck is always part of the equation. The rest are awareness, patience, and choice. Here's to a year of good moments at the pool tables! Written by Harris Golden Billiards
