| THE COLONY NEWS | JANUARY 2026 | 33 As the year drew to a close, the pickleball gang came together for our final holiday tournament of 2025. From the first serve to the final point, the courts were filled with laughter, friendly competition and the joy that only a great game of pickleball can bring. We all cheered everyone on and celebrated each hard-earned point. The camaraderie was palpable, reminding us why this sport continues to bring people together. If you would like to have some free instructions, please give me a call and I will be glad to help you. As we wrapped up another fantastic year of play, we hope you all had a Merry Christmas and will have a joyful, healthy and pickleball- filled New Year! Pickleball By Scott Ross, 310-213-3362 We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our Christmas dinner was catered by The Cove, and afterwards we enjoyed a trivia contest and played Left Right Center for prizes. Our November "Turkey Shoot" winners were Steve Austin, Rory Seidman and Ed Monroe. They each received a gift certificate to Albertson's. Four wins separate the top four teams, and we are about one- third of the way through the season. The current standings ending Dec. 4 are: 1st Place - Catch n Spare: Steve Wessels, Rory Seidman, Dave Sisson and Jann Schuler. 2nd Place - Primavera Kids: Jay Schodrowski, Carol Hitchcock, Hank and Gloria Fleischer. Tied for 2nd Place - Stars N Strikes: Thea and Tony Johnson, Dave Keeling and Grover Long. 3rd Place - Hot Schotz: Olivia Perez, Donna Kennedy, Steve Austin and Frank Hattabaugh. This year we will have had the most prize money ever given out in our league, and we will have a modified SWEEPS at the end of the year. Almost $11,000 will be handed out in prizes for teams and individuals in May. My goal as League President is to make sure our league is run properly and that we have the most fun and best dinners possible. Here is to a happy and healthy 2026!
