If Redlands suers an earthquake, you will be directed to the I-10 towards the Coachella Valley. If the quake hits Indio you will be directed back towards Redlands. A quake in Hemet might leave the I-10 open both ways. Getting to a safe place would be the goal for you and your family. You need to identify motels within a 10-15 mile radius that could accommodate you and your pets. is could just be a starting point. e locations nearest you could be closed from being damaged. Maybe you will need to expand your search to a 25- mile radius. e motel that you select should be able to accommodate you, your spouse, and your pets. You may also need to bring whatever medical devices that you use: C-Pap machines or oxygen diusers and hookups for your cell phones, tablets, and laptops. You will need all of your extension cords, charging cables, dog licenses, proof of rabies and other required vaccinations as well as a pet carrier or two. ose of you who park an RV in a storage lot should nd out if it will be accessible during an emergency or will your RV just be locked up behind the gates! is article began as a reminder that you need to know your way around in an emergency. e more familiar that you are with your surroundings, the more comfortable you will be during an evacuation.
