46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2026
Wars have signature battles: Alamo, Normandy,
Chosin. For Vietnam, it was "Tet" — a North Vietnamese
offensive during February 1968. Many of our Four Seasons
Beaumont Veterans had their life changed by this battle.
It started at the end of January 1968 and lasted until Feb.
24. It was a tactical defeat for the North Vietnamese,
but a strategic victory. American support for the South
Vietnamese government waned afterwards and the end
game changed from victory to "Vietnamization" and
complete withdrawal of American troops.
We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10 am
in The Lodge Game Room. ~ Len Tavernetti, ltavernetti@

Our December event was Christmas breakfast and cheer for the
Crown Divas. The ambiance in the room felt holiday-like with soft
music, red, purple and green tall f loral arrangements on tables and
a tall Christmas tree in the room. We greeted each other with our
usual warm salutations. The Bistro catered our breakfast and it was
very enjoyable. We don't exchange gifts with one another for our
Christmas event. We donate to a different organization each year.
This year the Crown Divas donated a generous amount to Beaumont
Seventh-Day Adventist Church. They give free food to people in
need all year round. The Queen surprised each of us with a red
rhinestone visor. Afterwards each Diva shared heartfelt feelings
such as goals, gratitude, thankfulness, sadness, or New Year's
resolutions. We've reached the end of our Crown Divas calendar.
We all agreed it has been an amazing, fun, adventurous, exciting
and memorable year. We have a sisterhood of wonderful, strong,
giving and caring ladies. Every Diva has a voice and in our next
meeting we are excited to hear what events and adventures we will
be adding to our Crown Divas calendar this year. ~ Irma Romero,
