Trifecta Tennis Winners 58 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2026 January 2026 began with more of a sploosh than a bang. While some of the Tennis Club members play Paddle Tennis too, none play Puddle Tennis, so we missed some court time to start the year. Indoors, though, there was the Tennis Club's Annual Dinner and Meeting at The Courts with catering by Johnny Russo. The meeting included reports from the Executive Committee and installation of its 2026 members. Following an online election via Survey Monkey in December, three members were re-elected to two-year terms (aka "sentences"). Stan Lam, Lou Stokes, and Chuck Beckman will stay on the committee along with Larry Zimmerman and Steve Hovey, who have one year remaining of their terms. The committee members chose to keep the same roles, with Stan as President, Chuck as Treasurer, Larry as Secretary and Play Day Coordinator, Lou as Activities Coordinator, and Steve as the Breeze writer. At the meeting there was a review of the club's 2025 activities, including 11 Play Days, over 30 FUNdamentals drills, several professional coaching clinics, the spring Tie-Break 10 tournament, Trifecta Racquet and Paddle Tennis, the June Tournament, August Pre-Wimbledon tournament, Senior Olympics Tennis, Sun Lakes Invitational, Halloween Black and Orange tournament, and the Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot event. The committee hopes to have another full and fun year in 2026, including the regular activities of Play Days and drills, along with quarterly tournaments or events, so stay tuned. Mike Olson continues to manage the recycling project, generating significant funding that supports the activities of the club. Look for the email reminders about collection dates. Please note time changes: Saturday FUNdamental drills and gentle coaching will start at 9 am on Court 1 during the winter months. Regular last-Saturday-of-the-month Play Days will have sign-ins at 8:30 am and play beginning at 9 am during the winter months. Winter hours for The Courts are 8 am to 8 pm. The committee meets monthly on the last Monday at 4 pm at The Summit. Members are welcome to attend. Despite the winter weather of rain and wind, we continue to have good turnouts. We have a great group of people who love the game. If you are interested in learning the game, come join us.
