FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2026 55 What comes to mind for me is how we still have fantastic pickleball play all year round here in Four Seasons. Sure, we may have a few winter hibernators, which makes for a lighter crowd out there once in a while, but that just means more court time for the rest of us. All I can say is, if you bundle up and come out, whether it's a little chilly or not, you are never let down. The beautiful winter atmosphere and the fresh, crisp air make it all worth it. And let's not forget the incredible benefit of staying active and social during these cooler months! Maybe a little rain isn't too bad since it may give our seasoned bodies a little time to recover. December Holiday Party Recap: On Dec. 14, our club had our much-anticipated holiday party — and what a party it was! Along with perfect prime rib catered by the Bistro, we had many generous raff le gifts given away. We had our own Karen Belcher DJ-ing the music, which took about two seconds to get all the pickleball twinkle-toe dancers out and about on that dance f loor! It was like watching Dancing with the Stars … well, sort of, if you don't count the bad knees, backs, hips, and shoulders. We capped off the evening with delicious cake for dessert, Walmart's very best. It was a perfect event to end the year and celebrate the amazing community we've built together. I've included a few photos that don't do it justice, but can give you an idea of what a great time we had. Club Dues Reminder: This is the time of year the club is collecting the yearly dues of $25. I say it every year — it's the best deal in town! For less than the cost of two movie tickets, you get year-round access to courts, organized play, social events, and a built-in community of friends. Please remember to give your dues to Maggie or Carol if you haven't already. Looking Ahead: As we move through February, remember that every time you step onto the court, you're investing in your health, your happiness, and your friendships. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, there's a place for you in our pickleball family. The courts are calling, the air is fresh, and your friends are waiting with open arms and paddle in hand. See you on the courts! ~ Shelley Allard, shelleyallard@gmail.com Pickleball Keith Linton, Yundell Montalbo, Terri and Joe Albright enjoying the party. Dancing to music by DJ Karen Belcher Cake for everyone!
