| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2026 |27 Art Lovers The Art Lovers Club tries to bring Art done by professionals, and sometimes residents, to each meeting. Our January meeting was a time to get together after having enjoyed our Holiday Luncheon at El Camino Country Club. And, of course, as she does each month, Louise Peterson prepared a lovely lunch for our members. No charge! One of the artists whose work was displayed this past year, was Moll Dee. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and studied at the University of Buffalo and the acclaimed Albright Knox Art School. Molly Dee's paintings are at once contemporary and nostalgic. She painted from old photographs, family collection and historical archives! She has been featured in many magazines. Her work is large in scale, and profound in impact, she painted faceless people, and as she once said "I search and try to transcend time, to look in such a way, not just a man or woman, or a child, but faceless pulsation of human emotion." Though she passed away in 2022, her favorite gallery on Nantucket Island still shows a host of her work. She is still being sold in many galleries. This is the kind of visual experience we try to bring to our meetings. So, join us, we would love to meet you. Written by Selma Leighton Here we are in February, the Valentine month. A time to celebrate L-O-V-E! A love of friends, family, dear ones, and special activities that bring us happiness. We invite you to check out the art display in the Art Studio where the creativity of your fellow residents is on display for your viewing pleasure! We are grateful to our talented artists for their willingness to share their art, and hope that you will show your appreciation to them. This exhibit features artworks in a variety of media: watercolor, oil, acrylics, and a broad range of subjects. Do you have a preferred medium? Do you have a favorite painting? We thank Annette Frimtzis for her beautiful acrylic painting of Italy, on display at the front desk of the Clubhouse. We are so fortunate to enjoy the works of our talented artists.
