| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2026 | 15 After wrapping up a terrific year with Dan Eller and his Cool Rush Band in November, we finally took a breath. We thought we had a couple of quiet months to relax before launching 2026 with our Feb. 7 dance featuring the ever-popular Boogie Express. But wait — Santa was coming to town! In December, the Lanai was transformed into a festive holiday scene as we welcomed Santa Claus, portrayed by our very own Greg Copeland. Children poured in to meet Santa, and he did not disappoint. Smiles were everywhere as photos were taken with Santa and the kids — and even parents and grandparents joined in for their own cherished memories. The event was bigger and better than the previous year, and plans are already underway to make next year's celebration even more spectacular. Next came our Member Appreciation Lunch and the election of Board members. In a wonderful show of continuity and commitment, all five Board members retained their seats and volunteered once again to help make the Doo Wop Disco and Dance Club even better in 2026. We also took time to treat this year's party hosts to lunch as a heartfelt thank you for the outstanding job they did. Their dedication and enthusiasm made our events possible, and we truly could not have done it without them. We had a great Do Dues Day on Jan. 10, and Feb. 7 will kick off another exciting year for our club. As President of the Doo Wop Club, I want to sincerely thank Vice- President Dennis Alls, Treasurer Lorraine Novellino, Secretary Angie Whissel, and Events Coordinator Charis Alls for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts continue to make the Doo Wop Club a roaring success. Written by Tom Harwood Doo Wop
