| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2026 |23 At a glance: • Feb. 2 – Fred Heath & the Slidewinders • Feb. 11– Actors' Workshop • Feb. 18 – Board meeting • Feb. 25 – Playreaders • March 2 – Cadence Dance Project We've made it through a difficult year and have come out of it alive, well – and are ready to rock and roll once again. Wishing you all a happy, healthy New Year. Your Board is hard at work making sure 2026 will be a year to be remembered with entertainment that is creative, humorous, fun, meaningful, unusual, exciting, educational and thought-provoking. We ask all new residents to join us – perhaps, even those with musical talents. Do Dues Day was a resounding success! Thanks go to Chairperson, Charmayne Huntley, and her merry crew for delivering an epic table this year. Elvis and More truly delivered! We had a blast – whether we danced, sang along and/or just kibitzed, it was great to be among our friends with a glass of wine and some tasty tidbits. Fred Heath & the Slidewinders' self-described sound as "hard driving and slide-winding blues," will perform for us Feb. 2, at 7 pm. We're setting up cabaret seating – and a dance f loor - for your evening's enjoyment. So, bring your dancing shoes, and a little something to nosh and sip. This performance is free to members and $10 for non-members. If you pay $15 for annual membership, all shows in 2026 are included. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Upcoming events: Cadence Dance Project will be performed for us March 2. This wonderful children's dance group's mission is to "… cultivate an environment where dance and community can harmoniously blend together… where youth are given exceptional dance, dance technique and instruction, while playing an integral role in our community through service and leadership." We are anxiously awaiting a date to share North County Children's Choir with you. All members are welcome to join the Theatre Arts Wednesday classes, which meet from 1 to 3 pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Actors' Workshop is now being led by Ed Hutsell (edhut411@gmail.com), and Playreaders is led by Anita Simons (ASimonSays@gmail.com). Please check your emails each month for dates, topics and room assignments. Our next regular Board meeting will be held Jan. 21, at 11 am, in a room to be assigned. Regular Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am, and are open to all Theatre Arts members, so please do come and join us. Join Theatre Arts so you can participate in all of our entertainment and activities. Our annual dues are $15. With that small amount, you will enjoy all membership privileges. Make your check payable to "OH Theatre Arts" and bring it to the front desk. Make certain your name, address, email, and phone number are on the check.
