The Bon Appetit club kicked off the year
with its annual membership, offering a
sensory experience with a spice identification
activity. Members tested their knowledge by
smelling, touching, and tasting five similar
spices. Patty Meinhardt, the 2026 club
President, delivered a presentation on spice
blending and origins. A lucky raffle winner
took home a starter herb garden and the
"Spice Bible."
Members received the 2026 events
calendar, which promises a year full of
engaging presentations, including knife skills,
wine pairing, sourdough bread making, and
ice cream creation. The Board of Directors
has planned a year of exciting culinary
adventures.
Bon Appetit is dedicated to supporting
aspiring culinary professionals through a
$1,500 scholarship awarded to a Beaumont
High School student each spring. Stay tuned
to discover the 2026 scholarship recipient.
